Description

We love the feeling of being inside your tent while the rain falls. Everything feels as it should. This shelter is built for that.

The Swiftline is a lightweight trekking pole shelter designed for livability. An offset pole structure, side vestibule, and double-wall design make for a comfortable, stormworthy shelter.

  • Offset pole structure - Balances headroom where you need it most
  • Side entry - Easy, unobstructed access
  • Double-wall design - Modularity and condensation management
  • Side vestibule - Keeps your gear accessible without blocking entry
  • Vented apexes - Enhanced airflow to reduce condensation
  • Recycled silpoly fabric - Stays taut when wet
  • Two inner material options - A more durable, standard option, or a lighter weight option
  • Three length options - Dial in the length to your height and needs

The original Swiftline

Thirteen years in the making

Conceptualized around 2010 and launched in 2013, the Swiftline gained a loyal following. But there were two things we always knew we wanted to address: the fully asymmetric design made for a steep learning curve when pitching it, and the complex construction made it challenging to maintain consistent quality.

We paused in 2020 to fix both. It's built today in small batches in Missoula, Montana, by us, a team of two. We're glad it's back.

Open layout

On clear nights, roll back the tent walls for a more open and connected experience. Gaze at the stars while remaining protected from the bugs.

Interior space

The Swiftline was a pioneer of the offset pole structure. The diagonal ridgeline puts headroom where you sit, plus volume above your head and at your feet when lying down.

The inner net provides about 43" of interior height along the ridge. At the head and foot, you'll find ~10" of vertical space above the floor. Check out the topo maps below to see the full profile.

Quick, intuitive pitch - fly first, pole handles up

Stake the four corners, insert and stake the poles, then stake the vestibules. Use eight stakes for maximum stability in storms, or six to save weight.

Pitching the fly first keeps the inner dry in the rain. For faster setup, you can leave both pieces clipped together and pitch them as one.

Orient your trekking poles so the tips point down. This protects the fly from punctures and keeps your pole handles out of reach of nibbling critters.

Designed for trekking poles, with optional tent poles available if you prefer.

Convenience: Side-entry & vestibule space

Enter and exit easily from the side with a zipper that can be operated with one hand. The side vestibule keeps your gear accessible without blocking the door.

Double-wall design

The Swiftline consists of two modular components: a rain fly and an inner net tent. Use the fly solo for a minimalist tarp setup, or pair them together for full protection. The double-wall design creates an air gap between layers that, along with vented apexes, mitigates condensation buildup.

Learn more about condensation here.

Material options

Silpoly fabric and aggressive curves create a taut, wind-shedding pitch that won't sag in the rain. The fly uses recycled fabric, and the inner comes in two options: a lighter recycled Sil/Sil coated floor with 0.5 oz netting, or a more durable Sil/PU coated floor with 0.6 oz netting for better puncture resistance and grip.

We use a durable #5 Aquaguard zipper on the fly and a lighter #3 on the inner. Zipper sliders are often the first component to wear out, so regular cleaning and lubrication helps extend their life - especially in dusty conditions. If you ever need the sliders replaced, just get in touch.

Tub-floor w/ 3 length options

The Swiftline's floor measures 30" wide and is available in three lengths, 80", 86", or 92" (203, 218, or 234cm). The 7 - 8" deep tub tapers outward at the top to give you more elbow room.

Notes/FAQ:

  • Do I need a groundsheet? Using a groundsheet will help extend the life of any floor. It's usually not necessary with either of our floor options, but the light floor option will benefit from a groundsheet more than the standard option.
  • Do I need to seal the seams? Yes, before your first trip. Apply Seam Grip +SIL to the outside of the fly seams. Plan for 30-60 minutes. See our seam sealing guide for step-by-step instructions. The floor corners can also be sealed the same way, though it's rarely necessary. If you'd rather skip it, our optional seam sealing service handles it before we ship.
  • Can I use the inner with other tarps? The Swiftline inner is unlikely to work well with other tarps, so we don't recommend it.
  • Do your Bug Shelters or Bivys work with the rain fly? We do not recommend it. While you might be able to set them up in a pinch, they would be misshapen and difficult to use.

Required items (not included):

  • Seam Sealer: Seal the fly's seams before your first trip. Use a sealer made for silicone-coated fabrics: we recommend Gear Aid Seam Grip +Sil. Or use our optional seam sealing service, and we'll handle it before shipping.
  • Trekking Poles: About 120cm (~47") for full height of the shelter.
Or use our optional tent poles.
  • Stakes: 6 (8 for better wind stability)
Pitching

How to pitch

  1. Prep: Set your poles to about 120 - 122 cm (47 - 48").
  2. Stake corners: Stake out the four main corners in a rectangle.
  3. Insert and stake poles: Pass poles under the fly, grab through the vent and nest the handle in the pole cup. Then stake out the apexes.
  4. Stake vestibule: Stake out the remaining two corners.
  5. Adjust: Adjust guylines and stakes to acheive a taut and balanced pitch.
  6. Attach inner: Clip the inner to the fly at the apexes and corners. Shorten connecting cords to tighten.

Tip: When breaking camp, leave the inner and outer connected so your shelter is ready for a quick, seamless setup next time.

How to pitch just the inner

When the weather is nice, you might want to pitch the inner without the rain fly. Here's how to do that.

  1. Prep: Unclip the rainfly's apex guylines (2) from the fly. You'll use these for the inner.
  2. Stake corners: At each corner of the tub, extend the shock cord to nearly its full length and clip it to the tie out at the bottom corner of the tub. Stake out all the corners, fairly tightly, in a rectangle.
  3. Install pole cups: Clip the guylines to the pole cups, then clip the inner's apex to the opposite side of the pole cup.
  4. Raise and stake apexes: Insert the pole handle into the pole cup to raise the apexes. Stake them out so the guyline runs roughly inline with the ridgeline.

Tip: If you're having issues with stability, it's likely due to either insufficient tension on the floor, or to the angle at which the guylines are running with respect to the inner.

Continues to exceed expectations
Number of Items: 1
This product blew me away. I was on the skeptical side after reading some of the negative reviews, but I have never had any issues. The charger is very fast and charged my phone in 2 hours from <5%. That's faster than some of my corded chargers. The cord and charger are of very high quality and even withstood my cat biting at it. Unfortunately, it does not include a charging block/usb wall adapter, but as long as you use a block/wall adapter that can support the charger (I used a Samsung fast charging block), it works great. The product will even blink if you are using an incompatible block. The rubber on the bottom of the charger prevents it from sliding around, and the overall appearance is slick and great. The product took less than 1 minute for me to set up and is very easy to use. Overall, it's an amazing product for an amazing price. Regarding some of the negative reviews; I see lots complaining about how hot the product gets. My block and the charger itself did get warm after extended periods of charging, however, there are safeguards that will pause charging if either get too hot. It hasn't gotten hot enough to be worrisome or even activate the safeguards, so I am not concerned about it at all.

Bought for my grandmother
Number of Items: 1
Great--works perfectly with my grandmother's smartphone! Makes her life easier: when she goes to bed she just places the phone down on the pad and it starts charging. She's 95, and while I'm constantly impressed by her ability to adapt to technology, I still try to make it as simple as possible for her, and this makes her life better. It is also convenient to have at my grandmother's house as a back up for the rest of the family--we have mixed Apple and Android users, and this works for both. If someone is running low on battery and forgot their charger, this is helpful to have! Worth noting, my uncle and cousin used it to charge their phones and claim it is slower than with their native cord plugged in--I haven't done a comparison test or noticed any difference myself, but I don't doubt that the wireless charging technology is slower than the wired (but I wouldn't assume this is a problem withe the specific charger, but rather the charging technology). For my grandmother, this makes no difference, but it could for others.

Good product for value

This charger works great especially for older phones that have issues with chorded charging. It’s easy to take along. The price is right for what you get. It does take a while to charge your phone. Also if you have a bulky case or a pop socket you have to remove the cover before using.

Nice wireless charger easy to set up and place on table next to gaming console place phone on top and let it charge. Easy to pick up phone and use as needed. Unlike attached to A charging wire easy way to raise battery in a short time as needed the best part is coming home setting and charger. To grab some more battery life and an hour later pick it up if I go again.

Too slow, see below for MUCH FASTER Qi receiver and charger combination
Number of Items: 1
How to get FAST Charging and not heat! I tried a bunch of different combinations of Qi chargers and receivers. One combination charged VERY FAST! Receiver: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZNP3Y76?ref=fed_asin_title&th=1 2000 mah QI Receiver Type C for Samsung Galaxy A51 - Type C Wireless Charging Adapter USB-c - Fast Qi Wireless Receiver Type C It is made by YK YKING but if you put YK YKING in the above search, it doesn’t come up. Charger: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKXKYSMY?ref=fed_asin_title&th=1 ESR for MagSafe Charger 15W Wireless Charger for iPhone 16 Pro Max/16 Pro/16/16 Plus/15/14/13/12 Apple Magnetic Charging Pad for AirPods 4/3/Pro/Pro 2 Galaxy S25 Series with Dual USB A/C Ports, Black Surprisingly, it outperformed chargers rated higher than 15w In addition, it is built MUCH BETTER than the other Qi chargers, much better/stronger/longer cable and magnet to hold whatever you put on it steady. It is smaller too. Part of the solution to getting best performance out of the charger is the power source you plug it into. To get best charging speed, you MUST plug it into a 9 volt 2 amp source. Less than 9v or 2a, not only will the charging speed be substantially reduced, both the charger and the receiver will run hot, since they are not getting enough power, so they are not running smoothly and consistently and instead varying charge and struggling to stay at optimum. Anyway, I hope this helps. Spent a lot of time, trying different Qi chargers and receivers, measuring charge rates and times and this one combination was immensely faster than all others! Almost as fast as a direct cable, instead of wireless Qi.
